Mineral Springs Haunted Tours presents its 'annual "Autumn Solstice Extravaganza" from 1-5 pm on Saturday, September 25, 2010.
This event is FREE to the public and features speakers, vendors, free Tarot card readings,door prizes and a drawing for a free ghost tour.

Alton is the most haunted town in Illinois and the Mineral Springs Hotel is the most haunted building in Alton! Once an elegant hotel and spa its history is filled with tragedy, murders, suicides, natural and accidental deaths, as well as many happy memories. Many of these earth-bound spirits remain to haunt, and make their presence felt and known. Mineral Springs Haunted Tours is the only tour that takes you into and through this magnificent old structure.
On our Haunted Overnights we "camp" in the haunted pool. Bring sleeping bags, air mattresses, reclining lawn chairs, folding cots blankets, pillows , whatever you feel comfortable with to sleep. There are currently no hotel rooms in use.
Our tours meet at Mineral Springs Mall at 301 e. Broadway, Alton Illinois and start with a lecture about the history of the building and Alton. We then go on an 8 block walk to 10-12 other haunted locations and go into some, depending on availability. We always visit the slave tunnels under the old Enos Sanitarium. After our historic walk, we return to Mineral Springs where we tour the entire building, all 5 levels, use investigative equipment (ghost hunting) do a seance in the men's pool, and end with a tarot card reading. This is a hands-on experience, we invite cameras and recorders. Tours last approximately 3 1/2-4 hours.
We operate year-round. We offer walking, dinner and overnight options on every scheduled date. Dinner tours and haunted overnights start at 7p.m., walking tours start at 7:30 p.m.
